In Memory of A Friend: Holly Richardson

Today people see the HFCN logo and the employment.. I like to share some of the heart and the friendly caring network that makes this business a joy. I get to meet and work with some of the most inspirational and talented people for a very short time.. some times, too short. The Helping Friends Career Network-- before it was a business, was a group of real living people who decided that through the hard times and the good, people matter! Colleagues that leave footprints in our hearts that never go away.


If life is what happens while you are making other plans, my friends, I am glad you are part of that plan! Let us remember the successes, and celebrate the joy. This is in Memory of our Friend: Holly Richardson, who resided in Colorado, and worked in Information Technology, succumbed to cancer this week.. She was known by many on the Helping Friends Network, as both a friend and behind the scenes friend to our network. Many of you help out of the goodness of your hearts, and it has created a tree with a solid foundation that will provide fruit for thousands following.

Holly was diagnosed several months back, and after 4.5 months of surgery and radiation for the last 4.5 months. I knew Holly for some 7 years we worked together on many IT Projects. She was a Project Management Developer working in Information Technology, with immense patience, technical skills and a fantastic sense of humor! For the challenging applications she supported, this was a requirement-- and her "neighborhood" was one of my favorite places to visit for coffee breaks and philosophical problem solving whether the problems of the home, the IT Process, or the community.

The folks who shared this little community, understand why people matter... We saw one another through 091101, through career uncertainty, community service, investment interests, politics, birth, death, sickness, health, wealth, humbling failure, and trying again.. All this while we carried out our day jobs in IT for Sun Microsystems.

Holly's wishes were to have a party instead of any services. She wanted
everyone to be joyful not sorrowful. And in the spirit of her wishes, I wanted to give us
a virtual celebration of our dear colleague. Feel free to add links to your memorial blog, or send me your memorial wishes or comments and I will pass them along.
