See Opportunity.. Be SEEN for Opportunity!

It's winter in Ohio.. and coooold. I am amazed that on the verge of winter, there are still cardinals, blue jays, and woodpeckers snacking on the seed I hung in the trees... How do they know that there is still food at my house, and that it's there for them.. I keep it out there because I very much enjoy a day with long conference calls that is filled with a bit more beauty because of the visits from these beautiful scarlet and azure colored birds gracing my office backdrop.

I see Opportunity! It's everywhere, so much great stuff to choose, where to start?
If you build it clearly, whether it's bird food or clear expectations for your next job, the opportunity will be there knocking, will you let it in?

The biggest secret to being an opportunity magnet for perfect opportunity, is to develop the mindset that makes it easy for you to be seen, by people you want to be seeing you! I recently re-read a great book "Attracting Perfect Customers- The Power of Strategic Synchronicity" by Stacey Hall & Jan Brogniez.

Today we will feature some tips for seeing opportunity, and more importantly being seen for the type of career opportunity that compliments your professional expertise.

  1. Be Reachable and Visible. Imagine the Grim Reaper trying to hail a cab for a hospitality job interview in the city. What can we do to be reachable and useful today? Here are some hints for job seekers.
    • Use your time wisely... Whats Next for Momentum should be the thought. Follow up, but don't stop all activity when you get something interesting, just trust that more interesting things could be chosen with a decision to embrace momentum. Show up for the appointments and use every interview until you get the perfect job, to define that perfect fit.
    • Update your social networking profiles. Where you are able to add a LINK in Social Networking, did you know that business professionals are looking for SOMEONE, but they might not know your name? Key words matter. Instead of using the default options for adding a LINK, Name your Link by it's function: (RESUME), this way people doing a search for example for an 'eCommerce Attorney' do not need to wade through a bunch of irrelevant data OR worse, MISS your data!
  2. Clarify your mission and values - for your clarity and others. But refreshing your message for "others" focus to help your muse, and their needs to find you, to need your skills, and to hire you to do what you do best.
  3. Socially Network NOW and a little bit each day. Good investments in time for job seekers and social networking are shared by the Career Doctor on Quintessential Careers. Donate the time you would be spending watching commercials to investing in others. We overestimate the importance of our day to day work, and forget the "inspiration" of friendly checkpoints, of manifesting our more perfect destiny. People make things happen, if we let them... But get too busy with the day to day, and watch people get in the way of your progress.. Fact is, it's not them, it's you.
  4. You've Got the Power.. will you accept that responsibility? Looking for tools and Inspiration to tap that personal power?
    • Check out ManifestYour Potential.com. You control the door, the location, and how people find you by being open and circulating with the knowledge that attraction requires intention and a little consistent action to "germinate". This is an important notion when it feels like nothing is happening, because feelings can distract you, if you let them.
    • Network with other possibility manifestation experts who can celebrate and share with you on the road. LinkedIn2TheSecret and LinkingAndTheSecret are two great Yahoo Groups with community, a links library and more topics.
